Maria Bourbou

About the artist
Maria Bourbou was born and grew up in Athens. She studied Photography (1996) at the Center of Study and Practice of Photography in Athens (GR). Video Art (2023) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (GR). She studied German Language (1989-1990) Hochschule Kiel/Germany. She attended courses at the Hellenic American Union hold by Nikos Oikonomopoulos (Magnum agency) and by Jerry Schatzberg (photographer/ film director) as well as at the “Atelier de Lisboa” by Jem Southam (Plymouth University). She works as a visual artist in Luxembourg and Athens
 
 
2021-2023: Commissioned by FEHL (Foro Económico Hispano-Luxemburgués in cooperation with LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN for the creation of art videos (series “Little Stories”) on purpose to promote visual art and culture on their social media. Fehl
 
2015-2018 During this period, Maria Bourbou created her studio at the 22Atelier, an independent
space of artistic production and creation located in Arroios in the center of Lisbon (PT).
